Holland v Spain: Arjen Robben admits he will always be haunted by World Cup final miss
Arjen Robben has admitted he will always be haunted by the World Cup final miss against Spain which denied Holland the chance to end their misery on football’s biggest stage.

With Robben due to face Spain for the first time tonight since South Africa as the Dutch begin their Group B campaign in Salvador, memories of the second-half miss in Johannesburg have flooded back for the Bayern Munich winger.

At 0-0, Robben was denied by Spain captain Iker Casillas after finding himself one-on-one with the Real Madrid goalkeeper in the 61st minute.

With neither team able to break the deadlock during 90 minutes, Andres Iniesta’s extra-time strike ultimately won the World Cup for the Spaniards.
