ओबामा के मोदी प्रेम पर चकित US थिंक टैंक, बोला- अब हर कोई है मिलने को आतुर

दो वर्ष पहले तक पीएम मोदी से कुछ लोग संबंध बनाने तक से कतराते थे, यहां तक कि उनसे मिलने में हिचकते थे लेकिन दो वर्ष के भीतर उनकी शख्सियत ऐसी हो गयी है कि अब उनसे हर कोई संबंध बनाने के लिए आतुर है। यह बातें एक शीर्ष अमेरिकी थिंक टैंक ने उस समय कही हैं जब पीएम मोदी की अगले हफ्ते अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बराक ओबामा से मुलाकात होने वाली है।

कार्नेगी एंडोमेंट फॉर इंटरनेशनल के एश्ले टेलिस ने मंगलवार को कहा, "प्रधानमंत्री बनने के बाद मोदी की यह राष्ट्रपति (ओबामा) के साथ संभवत: सातवीं बैठक होगी। कोई भी देश जो अमेरिका का औपचारिक सहयोगी नहीं है उसके शासनाध्यक्ष के साथ बैठक के मामले में संभवत: यह मोदी और ओबामा दोनों के लिए एक रिकार्ड होगा।"

सात जून को ओबामा-मोदी की बैठक से पहले व्हाइट हाउस में संवाददाताओं से बात करते हुए टेलिस ने कहा, "यह उस व्यक्तिगत रिश्ते के बारे में बताता है, जो दोनों के बीच पिछले दो वर्षों के दौरान विकसित हुआ है और अमेरिका के साथ मोदी के इतिहास को देखते हुए यह आश्चर्यजनक है।" अपनी अमेरिका यात्रा के दौरान प्रधानमंत्री आठ जून को अमेरिकी कांग्रेस की संयुक्त सभा को संबोधित करेंगे।

टेलिस की बात पर सहमति व्यक्त करते हुए मिलन कार्नेगी के वैष्णव ने कहा कि मोदी में आये व्यक्तिगत बदलाव उल्लेखनीय हैं। वैष्णव ने कहा, "दो वर्ष पूर्व तक कानूनी मुद्दे को लेकर मोदी अमेरिकी धरती पर कदम भी नहीं रख सके थे और अब अमेरिकी कांग्रेस की संयुक्त सभा को संबोधित करने वाले हैं। यह कुछ ऐसा ही है कि, एक व्यक्ति जिसे कल तक कोई संपर्क नहीं बनाना चाहता था आज उससे संपर्क स्थापित करने को आतुर है।"

दो वर्षों के शासन के दौरान विदेश नीति को लेकर पूरे अंक देते हुए टेलिस ने कहा, "किसी खास विफलता की पहचान मुश्किल है, पाकिस्तान और नेपाल ही दो ऐसे क्षेत्र हैं, जहां उनकी नीति थोड़ी कमजोर पड़ती दिख रही है। मोदी के शासनकाल के दौरान भारत की विदेश नीति उल्लेखनीय रूप से सफल रही है।" टेलिस ने कहा कि मोदी केवल बातों में ही यकीन नहीं रखते बल्कि अपने कार्य करने के लिए भी पहचाने जाते हैं। वह इच्छा रखते हैं कि संबंधों को दूर तक ले जाया जा सके।  Read more http://www.jagran.com/

मोदी व दूसरों की डिग्री में फर्क क्‍यों, AAP के सवाल का जवाब देगी BJP

आम आदमी पार्टी ने दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के समक्ष तीन यक्ष सवाल पूछ कर गेंद को विश्वविद्यालय प्रशासन के पाले में डाल दिया है। देखना यह है कि इन सवालों को जवाब डीयू प्रशासन देता है कि नहीं। आप नेताओं के इन सवालों के बाद भाजपा ने ऐलान किया है कि आज इन सारे प्रश्नों का उत्तर देगी। इस बाबत आज एक पीसी का आयोजन भी किया गया है।

प्रधानमंत्री की डिग्री सौ फीसद सही : डीयू

आप नेताओं ने दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के वीसी से उनकी डिग्री को दिखाने की मांग की थी। लेकिन डीयू प्रशासन ने इस मांग को सिरे से खारिज कर दिया। डीयू प्रशासन का तर्क था कि किसी की डिग्री के देखने का अन्य किसी को हक नहीं है। जबकि आप नेता इसे सार्वजनिक करने पर अड़े हैं।

भाजपा ने सार्वजनिक की पीएम मोदी की डिग्री

राष्ट्रीय भाजपा अध्यक्ष अमित शाह और केंद्रीय मंत्री अरुण जेटली ने मीडिया के समक्ष प्रधानमंत्री की डिग्री को दिखाया और कहा अब इस मामले में अरविंद केजरीवाल को देश से माफी मांगना चाहिए। इसके बाद आप नेताओं ने माफी के बजाए डिग्री पर प्रश्नचिन्ह लगा दिया।

हालांकि इस मामले में अन्य प्रमुख दलों की कोई प्रतिक्रिया नहीं आई है। विपक्ष ने इस पूरे मामले में चूप है। लेकिन आम आदमी पार्टी के नेताओं ने इस अपना एेजंडा बना लिया है। उनकी बात में कितना सच्चाई है यह तो समय बताएगा।

1 - प्रधानमंत्री मोदी की BA और MA की डिग्री में नाम में भिन्नता है। मार्कशीट पर नाम नरेंद्र कुमार दामोदर दास मोदी है, जबकि बीए डिग्री में नरेंद्र दामोदर दास मोदी है। आप नेता का कहना है कि यह असंभव है। नाम में बदलाव अवैध है।

2- दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय का लोगो एक है। लेकिन मोदी की डिग्री और डीयू की डिग्री में भिन्नता है। यह कैसे हो सकता है कि एक विश्वविद्यालय के दो लोगो हैं।

3- आप नेताओं का आरोप है कि डिग्री में नाम और अंक हस्तलिखित है। जबकि ऐसा नहीं हाेता है। मूल डिग्री में नाम हस्तलिखित नहीं होना चाहिए।

4- आप नेताओं का कहना है कि एक तरफ विश्वविद्यालय का कहना है कि वह पुराने रिकार्ड नहीं रखता है, दूसरी और रजिस्टार का दावा है कि डिग्री की मिलान किया गया है। यह दोनों विरोधाभाषी बाते हैं। इससे लगता है कि दाल में कुछ काला है।

भाजपा का दावा

1- भाजपा का कहना है डीयू ने डिग्री को सही माना है। पार्टी ने डिग्री को देश के समक्ष दिखा दिया तो फिर आप नेता इस तरह की हरकत से क्या सिद्ध करना चाहते हैं। उनका स्टैंड समझ से परे है।

2- पार्टी का कहना है आम आदमी पार्टी विकास के मुद्दे से भटकर दिल्ली की जनता का ध्यान दूसरी ओर बांटना चाहती है। इसलिए उसके पास कोई मुद्दा नहीं है तो उसने इस प्रकार की हरकत की है। Read more http://www.jagran.com/

जानिए पद्म पुरस्कारों से जुड़ी खास बातें

पद्म पुरस्कार देश के सर्वोच्च सम्मानों में से एक है। असाधरण कार्यों के लिए भारत सरकार भारतीय नागरिकों को पद्म पुरस्कारों से सम्मानित करती है। आइए जानते हैं कि पद्म पुरस्कार क्यों होते हैं खास

पद्म पुरस्कार तीन प्रकार के होते हैं। पद्म विभूषण, पद्म भूषण और पद्मश्री पद्म पुरस्कार मुख्य तौर पर शासकीय सेवकों द्वारा प्रदत्त सेवा के साथ-साथ किसी भी क्षेत्र में असाधारण प्रदर्शन करने वाले व्यक्ति को दिए जाते हैं।

कौन करता है सिफारिश
पद्म पुरस्कारों की सिफारिश राज्य सरकार/संघ राज्य प्रशासन, केन्द्रीय मंत्रालय या विभागों के साथ साथ उत्कृष्ट संस्थानों से प्राप्त की जाती हैं। इसके बाद एक समिति इन नामों पर विचार करती है। पुरस्कार समिति जब एक बार सिफारिश कर देती है फिर प्रधानमंत्री, गृहमंत्री और राष्ट्रपति इस पर अपना अनुमोदन देते हैं और इसके बाद गणतंत्र दिवस की पूर्व संध्या पर इन सम्मानों की घोषणा की जाती है।


पद्म विभूषण

पद्म विभूषण पद्म पुरस्कारों में सर्वोच्च होता है। इस सम्मान में पुरस्कार स्वरूप 1-3/16 इंच का कांसे का एक बिल्ला मिलता है। इसके केंद्र में एक कमल का फूल होता है। इसमें सफेद रंग में फूल की पत्तियां होती हैं। इस फूल के ऊपर नीचे पद्म विभूषण लिखा होता है। वहीं इस बिल्ले के पिछले हिस्से में अशोक चिन्ह बना होता है।


पद्म भूषण

इस सम्मान में भी कांसे का बिल्ला दिया जाता है जो 1-3/16 इंच का होता है। इसमें भी बीच में कमल का फूल बना होता है जिसकी तीन पत्तियां इसे घेरे रहती हैं। इस फूल के ऊपर नीचे पद्मभूषण लिखा रहता है।


पद्म श्री
संस्कृत में पद्म का मतलब कमल होता है। इसमें भी एक कांसे का फूल दिया जाता है।

पीएम ने मंत्रियों की बुलाई बैठक, काम में हीला- हवाली करने वालों की लेंगे क्लास

प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने आज अपनी सरकार के सभी मंत्रियों की बैठक बुलाई है। इस बैठक में सरकार की नीतियों और कैबिनेट के फैसलों के कार्यान्वयन पर चर्चा होगी। पीएम मोदी जनवरी और फरवरी महीनें में अपनी सरकार के सभी मंत्रियों के साथ बैठक कर चुके हैं। बैठक शाम 6.30 बजे संसद भवन परिसर में होगी।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी अति महत्वपूर्ण योजनाओं के क्रियान्वयन को लेकर बेहद गंभीर हैं और इसमें हो रही देरी को लेकर वे जिम्मेदार लोगों की क्लास भी ले सकते हैं। इससे पहले सभी मंत्रालयों और विभागों को स्पष्ट तौर पर कह दिया गया है कि जिस परियोजनाओं में देरी की संभावना हो उसका आकलन कर उसकी अंतिम तारीख से पहले ही कर लें। साथ ही ऐसे सभी प्रस्तावों को अंतिम तारीख से पहले ही मंत्रिमंडल की मंजूरी के निर्देश भी दिए गए हैैं।

केंद्रीय परियोजनाओं के पूरा होने में देरी की अन्य वजहों के साथ साथ एक बड़ा कारण मंत्रालयों और विभागों के अधिकारियों की लापरवाही भी रही है। सूत्र बताते हैैं कि प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय की नजर में ऐसे कई मामले आए हैैं जिनमें परियोजना समाप्त होने की अंतिम तारीख बीत जाने के काफी समय तक इस बात की चर्चा तक मंत्रालय में नहीं हुई कि परियोजना के लिए नया लक्ष्य क्या रखा जाए।

ऐसे तमाम मामलों के आकलन के बाद कैबिनेट सचिवालय ने बीते महीने सभी मंत्रालयों और विभागों को निर्देश जारी करके कहा है कि परियोजना समाप्त होने की तारीख बीत जाने के बाद कैबिनेट से परियोजना खत्म होने की नई तारीख की मंजूरी अब नहीं ली जा सकेगी।

मोदी की पहल, अब ई-गवर्नेंस से एम-गवर्नेंस तक सिमटेगी दुनिया

प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने ई-गवर्नेंस पर आयोजित 18वें राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन को आज ट्विटर के माध्यम से संबोधित किया। यह पहला अवसर है कि जब ऐसा संबोधन ट्विटर के माध्यम से किया गया है। इस मौके पर उन्होंने डिजिटल रूप से सशक्त समाज और ज्ञान आधारित अर्थव्यवस्था को प्रोत्साहन देने की जोरदार वकालत करते हुए कहा आज कि उनकी सरकार ‘डिजिटल भारत’ के सपने को साकार करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। उन्होंने मोबाइल फोन पर दुनिया ले आने का आहवान किया।

प्रधाानमंत्री ने कहा कि उन्हें पूरा विश्वास है कि प्रौद्योगिकी और ई-गवर्नेंस शासन की सभी प्रक्रियाओं को सरल बनाएंगे और कार्य एवं प्रगति की गति धीमी करने वाली अनेक बाधाओं को दूर करेंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि ई-गवर्नेंस पर नजर डालते समय हमें पहले मोबाइल के बारे में सोचना चाहिए और इस प्रकार एम-गवर्नेंस अर्थात ‘मोबाइल गवर्नेंस’ को महत्व देना चाहिए। उन्होंने मोबाइल यूजर्स से अनुरोध कि वह अपने मोबाइल के माध्यम से जितना संभव हो अधिक से अधिक सेवाएं उपलब्ध कराने के तरीको का पता लगाएं और अपने मोबाइल फोन पर दुनिया को ले आएं।

ट्विटर के माध्यम से ई-गवर्नेंस पर आयोजित 18वें राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन में शामिल होने पर खुशी जताते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि वह इस सम्मेलन में व्यक्तिगत रूप से शामिल होना चाहते थे लेकिन समय अभाव में यह संभव नहीं था। इस दौरान अपने अनुभवों को शेयर करते हुए उन्होंने लिखा कि वह पहले सोचते थे कि इस सम्मेलन में भाग न लेने के बावजूद वह आपसे कैसे जुड़ सकते हैं। ऐसा करने के लिए बाद में टेक्नोलॉजी का इस्तेमाल कर जनता से जुड़ने का निर्णय लिया गया।

उन्होंने कहा कि मुझे बताया गया है कि इस सम्मेलन में केंद्र और राज्य सरकारों, सशस्त्र बलों, शिक्षा, उद्योग और निजी क्षेत्र के अनेक प्रतिनिधि भाग ले रहे हैं। प्रतिभागी और उनकी विशेषज्ञता प्रभावी और कुशल ई-गवर्नेंस के लिए आगे बढ़ने की दिशा में इस सम्मेलन को एक सही मंच बनाते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि ई-गवर्नेंस डिजिटल भारत के हमारे सपने का एक अनिवार्य हिस्सा है। जितनी अधिक तकनीकी हम गवर्नेंस में लगायेंगे उतना ही भारत के लिए बेहतर होगा। मुझे पूरा विश्वास है कि प्रौद्योगिकी और ई-गवर्नेंस प्रक्रियाओं को सरल बनायेंगे और कार्य एवं प्रगति की गति धीमी करने वाली अनेक बाधाओं को दूर करेंगे।

जाते-जाते भी हिंदुस्‍तान का दिल जीत गए ओबामा

 अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बराक ओबामा अपनी दूसरी भारत यात्रा में भारतीयों का दिल जीत कर भारत से रवाना हो गए। यहां से वे सऊदी जाएंगे। दोपहर दो बजे उनके विशेष विमान एयरफोर्स वन ने पालम हवाई अड्डे से उड़ान भरी। प्लेन में सवार होने से पहले ओबामा दंपति ने हाथ जोड़कर नमस्ते किया और फिर विदाई ली। पीएम मोदी ने ट्वीट कर विदाई संदेश दिया।

इससे पहले दौरे के अंतिम दिन ओबामा, पत्नी मिशेल के साथ सुबह करीब 10 बजकर 55 मिनट पर सिरी फाेर्ट ऑडिटोरियम पहुंचे। उन्होंने 11 बजे 'नमस्ते' कह कर अपना संबोधन शुरू किया और गणतंत्र दिवस समाराेह में शामिल होने का मौका देने के लिए धन्यवाद दिया। ओबामा ने कहा कि अब साथ मिलकर चलने का वक्त आ गया है। इसके साथ ही उन्होंने विवेकानंद के करीब 100 साल पहले हुई शिकागो यात्रा का भी जिक्र किया। ओबामा ने कहा कि दुनिया को बेहतर बनाने के लिए हम साथ मिलकर काम कर सकते हैं।

इसके साथ ही अपने भाषण में अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति ने भारतीय युवाओं पर खास जोर दिया। साथ ही महिला को तरक्की देने पर जोर दिया। महौल को हल्का करते हुए उन्होंने हिंदी फीचर फिल्म डीडीएलजे का डॉयलाग बोलने की भी कोशिश की। साथ ही अमेरिका और भारत के मित्रता आगे भी जारी रखने का संकेत दिया।

'जयहिंद' के साथ अपना संबोधन खत्म करते हुए ओबामा लोगों के बीच आ गए। राष्ट्रपति के साथ उनकी पत्नी मिशेल ओबामा ने भी लोगों ने मुलाकात की। इस दौरान मोबाइल से उनकी तस्वीरें निकालने वालों की होड़ लगी रही। कई लोगों ने सेल्फी लेने का भी प्रयास किया।

भाजपा की बैठक आज, सीएम पद की प्रत्याशी होंगी किरण!

दिल्ली विधानसभा चुनाव के मद्देनजर भाजपा चुनाव समिति की बैठक आज शाम 7 बजे होगी। बैठक में भाजपा अपने सभी उम्मीदवारों के नामों की घोषणा भी कर सकती है। इसके साथ ही मुख्यमंत्री पद के उम्मीदवार के लिए किरण बेदी के नाम पर भी मोहर लगाई जा सकती है।

भाजपा की केंद्रीय चुनाव समिति और संसदीय बोर्ड की बैठक में आज ही सभी उम्मीदवारों के नामों की घोषणा की जा सकती है। दिल्ली में 21 जनवरी को नामांकन दाखिल करने का आखिरी दिन है। बैठक में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और पार्टी अध्यक्ष अमित शाह भी शामिल होंगे। बैठक में किरण बेदी की भूमिका पर भी निर्णायक निर्णय लिया जा सकता है।

भाजपा ने दिल्ली में पिछला विधानसभा चुनाव डॉ. हर्षवर्धन को आगे रखकर लड़ा था। वहीं, महाराष्ट्र, हरियाणा, झारखंड और जम्मू-कश्मीर का विधानसभा चुनाव में पार्टी ने किसी को भी मुख्यमंत्री पद का उम्मीदवार घोषित नहीं किया था।

मोदी को पसंद आया 25 के नोट का सुझाव

देश में प्लास्टिक नोट चलाने की मंशा हालांकि अभी पूरी नहीं हुई है, लेकिन अब 25 रुपये का नोट चलाने के मशविरे ने चंडीगढ़ को सुर्खियों में ला दिया है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी द्वारा इस मशविरे को पसंद करने और प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय द्वारा रिजर्व बैंक को इस बाबत विचार करने के निर्देश के बाद चंडीगढ़ के व्यापारी राम दास सिंगला की खुशी भी सातवें आसमान पर है।

सिंगला के सुझाव को प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय ने अमल में लाने की प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी है। प्रमुख ग्रेन मार्केट, सेक्टर-26 के कारोबारी सिंगला ने कहा कि उन्होंने यह सुझाव पांच रुपये के नोट की किल्लत से निपटने के लिए भेजा था। वह खुद अरसे से पांच रुपये के नोट व सिक्कों की कमी की समस्या से जूझते रहे हैं।

Withdraw support to SAD on drug issue: Congress to Modi

"Prime Minister Modi was simply trying to preach the youth without promising any concrete action. But we were surprised over the Prime Minister's remarks. The state, where drug addiction is most rampant is Punjab ruled by BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal," party spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed told reporters here.
  
He also claimed that those arrested in the drug peddling case had given names of three persons including of "a very senior minister" and had said that they were "kingpins".
  
"One DSP arrested in a case had said three ministers of the the BJP-SAD government were involved in it. Drugs are peddled into Punjab from across the border, Pakistan," Ahmed said.
  
He said that Modi did not mention the steps, his government will take to check the menace and arrest those behind it or what action his government will take against the ministers, whose names surfaced.
  
"Instead of taking action against his government (in Punjab), instead of withdrawing support from the SAD, instead of specifying the measures to check the menace, Prime Minister Modi was only trying to preach the youth without promising any concrete action.

Government to use tech to improve governance, curb corruption: PM Modi

In his interaction with US-based economists, the Prime Minister underlined the need for "injecting technology" into government processes and decision-making.
  
These initiatives, he added, would also provide the best possible solution to the problem of corruption.
  
Corruption, it may be mentioned, was one of the major election planks during the polls earlier this year which saw emergence of BJP as the majority party at the Centre.
  
Talking to the US economists, the Prime Minister said his government would accord "topmost priority" to skill development and job creation.
  
All government policies would be youth-centric as 65 per cent of India's population is below the age of 35, said an official release quoting the Prime Minister.
  
He said the government's focus on infrastructure and 'Digital India' would boost employment opportunities even in rural areas.

Thousands march in Haiti amid political discontent

The crowd on Saturday began marching peacefully toward the Canadian Embassy in Port-au-Prince, but protesters later began burning tires, throwing rocks at police and trying to force their way through barricades as officers fired tear gas.

Many protesters carried posters demanding that President Michel Martelly and Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe step down. "We need elections in the country so democracy can continue ... not corruption," said Jean Ronald Brison, owner of an auto parts store.

Martelly's administration was supposed to call elections in 2011 for a majority of Senate seats, the entire Chamber of Deputies and local offices. But both he and Lamothe have blamed legislators for blocking a vote that would lead to approval of an electoral law.

Six senators have said the legislation is unconstitutional and favors the government. A similar protest held Friday also turned violent, with police firing tear gas at protesters who burned tires and threw rocks as they pushed through the security perimeter at the National Palace. No deaths or major injuries were reported.

Lamothe addressed the protest late Friday via Twitter: "We urge demonstrators to exercise their constitutional right with restraint and responsibility." Four anti-government demonstrations have been held in Haiti's capital in about a month and a fifth is planned for next week.

Pakistan wants meaningful dialogue with India: Sharif

Sharif said during an in-flight press briefing late night on his return from the 18th Saarc Summit in Nepal that Pakistan wants to discuss all issues including Kashmir with India through a proper dialogue, news agency reported.

Moments before the 18th SAARC Summit concluded after two days of deliberations here, Modi and Sharif shook hands and exchanged a few sentences to loud applause of other leaders and their delegations which were witness to the cold vibes between the two Prime Ministers at the opening session yesterday when they ignored each other.

"Let's not read too many things into courtesies that are being extended," Indian External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said on the brief interaction between Modi and Sharif.

"Baat bhi hui mulaqaat bhi hui (they met and also talked)," the Spokesperson said, but categorically denied that there was any "one-on-one" contact between Modi and Sharif.

Noting that India had already made it clear that there were no "substantive and structured" discussions between the two Prime Ministers, Akbaruddin said, "This is what exactly happened" and reiterated India's position for "cooperative, peaceful" relations with Pakistan.

During their brief interaction towards the end of the summit, Modi put his hand on Sharif's arm as the two leaders looked at cameras with a long handshake even as they exchanged a few sentences.

The brief Modi-Sharif bonhomie was summed up by a tweet by Akbaruddin, "the photo all were waiting for".

This was the second time during the day that the two leaders had shaken hands and exchanged pleasantries, the first occasion being the retreat in Dhulikhel, a picturesque tourist resort, about 30 km from Kathmandu, where the SAARC leaders held deliberations in an informal setting.

At the concluding session, Modi also clapped before and after Sharif's vote of thanks as the host for the next SAARC Summit in Islamabad.

Nepal played key role in Modi-Sharif handshake

"Although we have created an atmosphere for meeting of the two leaders, it is the two leaders themselves who took initiative for the handshake," Foreign Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, who was also present on the occasion, said.
  
"SAARC is for creating a goodwill and understanding among all the member countries and the regional grouping could not move forward without the cooperation among them," Pandey said.
  
"We could not have forced them to shake hands," said the Foreign Minister, adding that the brief meeting between Modi and Sharif could not have taken place if the two leaders were not willing to do so.
  
Host country Nepal organised a retreat for the SAARC leaders in Dhulikhel, the picturesque resort city situated in the east of Kathmandu on the final day of the Summit.
  
The retreat organised by Nepal created an environment for the leaders of the two countries to come together.
  
On a question about whether he played any role for the handshake Prime Minister Koirala said, "SAARC will move forward in the path of democracy and development, and it will create an atmosphere of understanding and trust among all the member states."
  
"It is not important who initiated, rather what happened matters," said Koirala, adding the gesture was "significant".
  
Modi and Sharif had ignored each other yesterday during the opening session of the eight-nation SAARC Summit.
  
Lack of warmth between the two Prime Ministers at the SAARC is reflective of the sudden downslide in Indo-Pak ties after India called off Foreign Secretary-level talks over Pakistan envoy's meeting with Kashmiri separatists in August ahead of the parleys between the top diplomats.

Pakistan ready for talks, awaits India's first step: Nawaz Sharif

Speaking in the Nepal's capital city, where he reached on Tuesday to attend 18th Summit of South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (Saarc) Nov 26-27, Sharif said India cancelled foreign secretary-level talks.

Earlier in the day, Sartaj Aziz, advisor to Prime Minister Sharif on national security and foreign affairs, on his arrival here denied that there were any plans for a Modi-Sharif bilateral. He, however, said that such a meeting could be held if Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj makes a request.

He said it was up to India to have "informal talks" with Pakistan.

Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday briefly met and shook hands with Aziz on the eve of the Saarc Summit but later clarified to media that "It was out of courtesy".

Angered by the Pakistan High Commissioner's refusal to call off talks with Kashmiri separatist leaders in New Delhi, despite Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh calling up High Commissioner Abdul Basit to request it, India called off on August 25, 2014, foreign secretary level talks with Pakistan.

Modi, Koirala flag-off Kathmandu-Delhi bus service

Before the flagging off, both the Prime Ministers hopped into the bus and interacted with the travellers of the bus, which was decorated with streamers, balloons and flowers.
  
The bus service is touted to be a major boost in terms of trade and tourism and will also strengthen the bilateral ties between the two neighbouring countries.
  
The route, the bus service will follow would be from Kathmandu, Bhairawa, Sanauli, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and New Delhi.

Earlier, India and Nepal signed motor vehicle agreement under which permit would be given to vehicles to ply on designated routes in each other's country.

India and Nepal also agreed on twin-city pacts between Kathmandu-Varanasi, Janakpur-Ayodhya and Lumbini-Bodh Gaya.

While speaking in Kathmandu, Modi said that the start of new bus service from kathmandu to Delhi  would strengthen ties between the two countries. He said that he would also try to arrange for wi-fi  in the bus so that people could stay connected on the go.

Earlier, on his arrival at Kathmandu to attend his maiden SAARC Summit, Modi was accorded a warm welcome. He was given a guard of honour and a group of girls presented a cultural performance
for him.
  
Modi will articulate India's position on various issues during the summit on November 26-27 and will hold bilateral talks with South Asian heads of state and government on its margins.
  
While Modi's official programme has no mention of his meeting with Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif, he would be meeting Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa among others.
  
In his pre-departure statement, Modi said development of close relations with neighbours was a key priority for his government and he was also looking forward to holding talks with other South Asian heads of state and government on the margins of the summit.
  
"Although this is my first SAARC Summit, during the last six months, I have interacted extensively with leaders of SAARC countries beginning with their auspicious presence at my swearing-in ceremony. Development of close relations with our neighbours is a key priority for my Government," Modi said.
  
Prime Minister Modi's high-level delegation at the summit includes External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh and a number of senior officials of various ministries.

Rajnath Singh, Netanyahu review cooperation in combating terror

Both the leaders also expressed their countries' keenness to strengthen ties, with Netanyahu emphasising that he "believes that relations between the two countries were poised for rapid development" following his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September in New York.

During that meeting, the Israeli Premier had said that "sky is the limit" in terms of prospects of cooperation between the two countries. Singh and Netanyahu discussed the regional situation and the evolving threats to the global communities from terror.

Singh said terror was a threat not only to countries like India and Israel but to the whole  world. Vowing to strengthen India's "very warm" relations with Israel, Singh on his first bilateral visit to Israel said, "India and Israel share very warm and cordial bilateral relations. We look forward to strengthen it further".

Fresh from his participation at Interpol General Assembly in Monaco, Singh told PTI that he also made a strong pitch for cooperation in the field of cyber security during his one hour conversation with the Israeli Premier. Singh was earlier widely quoted in the press for highlighting the use of social media for indoctrination by Jihadi elements and the urgent need to device ways to curb this practice through the use of internet.

He also made a special reference to Modi's "Make in India" initiative and invited Israeli industries, including the defence sector, to take advantage of the investment friendly policies adopted by the new government.

Expressing satisfaction at the growth in bilateral ties in a range of areas, including defence and agriculture, Singh noted that signing of agreements recently in the area of Homeland security had opened another sector for mutually beneficial cooperation.

Singh particularly emphasised on the importance of capacity building and training in this context.

"The future emphasis should be to build a hi-tech partnership befitting two leading knowledge economies," the Indian leader said.

Both leaders also agreed that the Free Trade Agreement under discussion between the two sides should also be signed early. Netanyahu briefed the Indian Home Minister on technologies that had been developed by Israel in areas such as aviation security, border protection and water harvesting.

Responding favourably to Modi's 'make in India's initiative, the Israeli leader said that his country is ready and willing to discuss transfer and development of technologies with India.

"Israeli industries, including the defence industries, could 'make in India' and thereby reduce costs of manufacturing products and systems developed by Israel," the Israeli Premier said.

The Israeli leader also expressed willingness to send a delegation from Israeli industries to visit India to explore manufacturing opportunities in different sectors.

अमृतसर [रमेश शुक्ला 'सफर']। मेरे 'मोहन' ने मेरी सुन ली। कृष्ण भक्त हूं, बचपन से ही मोहन के साथ मन की बातें करता आया हूं। बचपन, जवानी मोहन के साथ बीती है। एक मोहन भगवान कृष्ण तो दूजे प्रधानमंत्री डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह [मेरा मोनू]। बीते 12 दिसंबर को मंदिर घर में मोहन से प्रार्थना की थी कि 'हे मोहन'! मेरे मनमोहन को सद्बुद्धि दे। दस साल हो चले हैं, मिला ही नहीं हमसे। अच्छा तो यही है कुर्सी छोड़े दे, उम्र भी तो हो चली है। हमारे लिए वो तो 'वनवास' ही चला गया। 

मैं धन्य हूं कि मेरी मोहन ने भी सुनी और मनमोहन ने भी। प्रधानमंत्री डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह ने दस साल बाद कहा कि 'अब प्रधानमंत्री मैं नहीं'। अब कृष्ण भगवान से यही कहता हूं कि 'हे मोहन', खुश रहे मनमोहन' खुश रखना उसे हमेशा। यह प्रार्थना वाले 'हाथ' दोस्ती के वो हाथ हैं जिन्हें राजनीति से सरोकार नहीं, वो दोस्ती का 'फूल' खिलाते हैं। हम और 'आप' की बातों में नहीं आते। यह हाथ हैं प्रधानमंत्री डा. मनमोहन सिंह के गहरे मित्र व सहपाठी पठानकोट के विक्रम सिंह के। 

विक्रम सिंह प्रधानमंत्री डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह के वहीं सहपाठी है, जिन्होंने दैनिक जागरण के माध्यम से डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह से कुर्सी छोड़ने की सलाह बीते 13 दिसंबर को दी थी। 'मोनू! छोड़ दो कुर्सी, बाकी मर्जी 'आप' की' दैनिक जागरण में प्रकाशित हुई तो चैनल दौड़े थे।

विक्रम सिंह हंसते हुए कहते हैं कि 'अब कहीं मेरे मोनू को लेकर 'आप' यह मत छाप देना की वो राजनीति के काबिल नहीं हैं। वो हैं काबिल, लेकिन स्वच्छ, निष्पक्ष राजनीति के। दस साल तक मेरा मोहन बोला, लेकिन 'मन' से नहीं। मोहन ने क्या नहीं दिया देश को। मोहन ने तन, मन, धन सब कुछ अर्पण किया है देश के लिए।

मैं जानता हूं कि वो कितने ईमानदार हैं, शायद 'आप' भी नहीं। खुशी है कि मोनू! कालेज के दिनों में कहा करता था कि विक्रम, देखना एक दिन तेरा मोनू तुझे कुछ बनकर दिखाएगा, सच हुआ, मोनू से कब वो डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह हुआ, और कब नोटों पर उसके हस्ताक्षर चलने लगे और कब प्रधानमंत्री की कुर्सी पर बैठे। जिंदगी जैसे पलों में गुजर गई'। इतने के साथ ही फोन पर ही विक्रम सिंह भावुक हो गए।

Awami leagues's big victory in Bangladesh

ढाका। बांग्लादेश में विपक्षी दलों के बहिष्कार और भारी हिंसा के बीच रविवार को हुए आम चुनाव में सत्तारूढ़ अवामी लीग ने बड़ी जीत दर्ज की। 147 सीटों के लिए हुए मतदान में बहुत कम लोगों हिस्सा लिया। प्रधानमंत्री शेख हसीना की पार्टी को 95 सीटें मिलीं जबकि जातीय पार्टी को 12 और और अन्य छोटे दलों या स्वतंत्र प्रत्याशियों को 13 सीटों पर संतोष करना पड़ा। 

इस दौरान हुए संघर्षो में 21 लोग मारे गए जबकि दो सौ से अधिक मतदान केंद्रों में आग लगा दी गई। कम मतदान होने पर बांग्लादेश नेशनलिस्ट पार्टी (बीएनपी) की प्रमुख व पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री खालिदा जिया ने इस चुनाव के औचित्य पर सवाल उठाए हैं और विपक्षी दलों के साथ फिर दो दिवसीय बंद का आह्वान किया है। 

देशभर में बीएनपी की अगुआई में 18 दलों के कार्यकर्ताओं ने मतदान का उग्र विरोध किया। इन दलों ने शनिवार से ही दो दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय बंद का आह्वान किया था। भारी सुरक्षा बलों की तैनाती के बावजूद प्रदर्शनकारियों ने कई मतदान केंद्रों पर देसी बम फेंके। पुलिस के अनुसार, हिंसा में 16 लोग मारे गए हैं। मरने वालों में ज्यादातर विपक्षी पार्टियों के कार्यकर्ता हैं। 

इसके अलावा दिनाजपुर में एक मतदान केंद्र में तैनात एक पुलिसकर्मी की भी हत्या कर दी गई। शनिवार की रात के दौरान एक चुनाव अधिकारी सहित दो लोग मार डाले गए। प्रधानमंत्री हसीना गोपालगंज और रंगपुर क्षेत्र से जीत गई हैं। विपक्ष ने परिणाम आने के बाद सोमवार से दो दिनों के और बंद का आह्वान किया है।

बांग्लादेश में 300 निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों में से 147 के लिए रविवार सुबह आठ बजे से मतदान शुरू हुआ लेकिन हिंसा के डर से ज्यादातर लोग घरों में ही दुबके रहे। बीएनपी और इसके सहयोगियों ने चुनाव का बहिष्कार किया है, लिहाजा शेष 153 उम्मीदवार निर्विरोध चुन लिए जाएंगे। मतदान शाम चार बजे तक हुए जिसके तुरंत बाद मतों की गिनती शुरू हो गई।

स्थानीय मीडिया के अनुसार, कई मतदान केंद्रों पर शुरुआती घंटों में एक भी मत नहीं डाला गया। आगजनी और बैलेट बॉक्स लूट लिए जाने के कारण 160 पोलिंग बूथों पर मतदान को स्थगित कर दिया गया जबकि विपक्षी प्रदर्शनकारियों ने दो सौ से अधिक मतदान केंद्रों को आग के हवाले कर दिया। मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त रकीबुद्दिन अहमद ने निष्पक्ष चुनाव कराए जाने का दावा किया है। 

बीएनपी सहित विपक्षी पार्टियां चुनाव स्थगित कर गैरदलीय कार्यवाहक सरकार के गठन की मांग कर रही थीं लेकिन प्रधानमंत्री शेख हसीना ने उनकी मांगों को खारिज कर दिया। इसके चलते गत नवंबर से पूरे देश में विपक्ष की हड़ताल, बंद और प्रदर्शन के दौरान राजनीतिक हिंसा से 140 से अधिक लोग मारे जा चुके हैं। इन दलों ने इसी वजह से चुनाव का बहिष्कार किया।

BJP slams SP leaders for Modi Remarks

नई दिल्ली [जाब्यू]। मोदी की चाय की प्याली को लेकर उठे तूफान में भाजपा ने विरोधियों को घसीट लिया है। सपा सांसद नरेश अग्रवाल ने चाय बेचने वाला कभी पीएम नहीं बन सकता जैसा बयान दिया तो भाजपा नेताओं ने सपा की गरीब विरोधी सामंती और कांग्रेस की वंशवादी विचारधारा का हवाला देकर उन्हें लोकतंत्र के खिलाफ बता दिया। खुद मोदी भी पीछे नहीं रहे। उन्होंने कहा कि अमीरों के घर में जन्मे लोग गरीबों का मजाक उड़ा रहे हैं।

सपा सांसद नरेश अग्रवाल ने बुधवार को हरदोई की सभा में मोदी पर हमला करते हुए कहा था कि चाय बेचने वाला पीएम नहीं बन सकता है। उसकी सोच कभी ऊपर जा ही नहीं सकती। पीएम के लिए राष्ट्रीय व्यक्तित्व का आदमी होना चाहिए। जाहिरा तौर पर अनजाने में ही सही नरेश ने गरीबी का भी मजाक उड़ा दिया था। चुनावी माहौल में ऐसे संवेदनशील बयान का बड़ा राजनीतिक महत्व भी हो सकता है। होश आते ही उन्होंने माफी मांग ली और कहा कि जिन्हें इस बयान से दुख पहुंचा हो वह माफ कर दें, लेकिन तब तक देर हो चुकी थी। बयान ने भाजपा के हाथ हमले के लिए बड़ा हथियार दे दिया था।

भाजपा के कई दिग्गजों ने नरेश और सपा के साथ साथ परोक्ष रूप से कांग्रेस को भी कठघरे में खड़ा कर दिया। राजनाथ ने कहा, समाज के निचले स्तर पर खड़ा व्यक्ति उच्चस्थ पद तक पहुंचता है तो यह सच्चा लोकतंत्र होगा। नरेश ने लोकतंत्र का ही मजाक उड़ा दिया। छत्तीसगढ़ की एक जनसभा में मोदी ने कहा कि मैं रेलगाड़ी में चाय बेचता था इस सच्चाई को किसी से नहीं छिपाया। लोकतंत्र में तो बूट पालिश करने वाला भी प्रधानमंत्री बन सकता है। लेकिन लोकतंत्र की यह भावना वह नहीं समझ सकते हैं जो अमीरों के घर पैदा हुए हैं।

जेटली ने सपा को सामंती ठहरा दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि समाजवाद का अर्थ समानता होता है। लेकिन समाजवादी पार्टी में नेताजी, उनके बेटे और भतीजे का राज होता है। जो दल वंशवाद पर चल रहा हो उसे लोकतंत्र का यह मर्म रास नहीं आएगा। भाजपा के पूर्व अध्यक्ष एम. वेंकैया नायडू भी पीछे नहीं रहे। उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस देश के स्पेक्ट्रम में लूट कर रही है और सपा उसे समर्थन दे रही है, लेकिन मजाक गरीबों का उड़ाया जा रहा है जो अपनी मेहनत से रोटी कमाते हैं।

Tea Stall Vendor Modi can Never be PM

हरदोई, जागरण संवाददाता। सपा के राष्ट्रीय महासचिव नरेश अग्रवाल ने भाजपा का मजाक उड़ाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि देश के इतिहास में लोकसभा सदस्य चुने जाते रहे हैं लेकिन भाजपा तो प्रधानमंत्री का ही चुनाव करवा रही है। मोदी पर तंज कसते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि चाय बेचने वाले की राष्ट्रीय सोच हो भी नहीं सकती। विदेश मंत्री सलमान खुर्शीद की मानसिकता पर भी उन्होंने सवालिया निशान लगाया।

जिले में एक सरकारी आयोजन के दौरान सांसद अग्रवाल ने कहा कि अगर किसी सिपाही को एसपी बना दिया जाए तो इसकी सोच कितनी बदलेगी। यही हालत भाजपा नेता की है। गुजरात में संप्रदायिकता फैलाकर मुख्यमंत्री की कुर्सी पर बैठ गए लेकिन उनकी सोच राष्ट्रीय कभी नहीं हो सकती।

वहीं, विदेश मंत्री सलमान खुर्शीद के हाल में दिए बयान पर कहा कि पाकिस्तानी विदेश मंत्री देश में आतंकी गतिविधियों में लिप्त व्यक्तियों से मिलकर जाते हैं और देश के विदेश मंत्री कहते हैं कि पाकिस्तान को संदेह का लाभ दिया जाना चाहिए।
